According to the USGS: This dataset was produced to provide statistically estimated quantities of suspended sediment in the Chesapeake Bay region. These estimates can be used to identify the important sources of suspended sediment to the Chesapeake Bay and identify the spatial distribution of such sources. Delivered Sediment Yield from Agriculture is measured in Mg per km2 per year, and it reflects the amount of total sediment that is generated locally for each stream reach weighted by the amount of instream loss that would occur with transport from the reach to the Chesapeake Bay.
